Meet Lauren Hornbeck
Licensed Professional Counselor

Hi, my name is Lauren. I believe symptoms like anxiety and stress come from a place of disrupted connections between the bodily sensations and brain, which creates interruptions in our ability to function authentically. I specialize in treating these disjointed experiences in addition to trauma and its impacts. When we live in patterns and behaviors that encourage this disconnection between the brain and body, or experience something traumatic that pauses this communication, we are not able to meet our goals entirely. Our optimal functioning, and authenticity is hindered.
I offer a safe space to explore these patterns and how they are impacting today to better understand yourself and address that disconnect. Together, I can assist you to fill your wellness toolbox! We can navigate your goals and strengthen connections that encourage you to meet your goals and authentic self.
I earned a Bachelor’s degree from Colorado State University- Pueblo in Forensic Psychology and a Master’s degree from Regis University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am a Nationally Board-Certified Counselor (NCC), a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and have eight years in the field. My practice has also been awarded 'Best Mental Health Service' for both 2022 and 2023 in the Pueblo West area and has been inducted into the 2023 Pueblo West Business Hall of Fame.
I am a big believer in expressing and encouraging our emotional wellness as much as our physical wellness, so I try to live a life that encompasses balance and opportunity. I enjoy incorporating nature and outdoor activities into my daily living as much as possible, as well as my practice. I enjoy camping, traveling, hiking, and fishing with my husband, Ben, and our dogs, Addy and Wyatt, in my personal life. I am also an avid reader and board game enthusiast.
Establishing and maintaining a balance between my personal life and practice is essential for me to not only live my life to the fullest, but also to encourage you to pursue your life’s passions and achievements. It is important to me to show up for you as authentically as I can. I believe accountability to ourselves is key in creating the life we want.
